Mohamed works as a hydraulic engineer at Delft Hydraulics. He studies the changes in the Dutch river delta, which is necessary because of the increase of the see level and the drainage peaks. Dutch water engineering is well known throughout the entire world. The continuing fight of the Dutch against water has contributed to the high knowledge of water management. The protection of the country against water and the reclamation of new land, waterways and ports are a speciality of Dutch engineers. The favourable position of the Netherlands in the delta of three large European rivers and to the busy shipping routes in the North sea has ensured that Rotterdam has become one of the largest ports of the world.
